I guess this comes from the experience of performing or being on stage thousands of times. I may be the ‘main event’ at a concert or simply playing guitar for someone else, but I’m always trying to locate the mood of the room. The general feeling within the crowd. And when I get an understanding of, let’s say, the needs or wants of that crowd, I know what to do, how to play, perform or lead an event.
