This another of my Pro-Tips and it’s about our attitude when writing. I make myself a promise, that if I start a song idea then I have to finish it. This also means I take a moment to consider the value of the song idea. Is it worthy of my time? Or is it perhaps just an idea floating around in my brain. If I commit to the writing process I am saying, “I’m all in!” This characteristic of being able to finish ideas, and finish them on time, marks the difference between the pro and the amateur.
